Mabel & Co is a designer/maker studio run by James and Katie Jenkins, with an emphasis on sustainability and traditional craft practice. Although multi-disciplinary, their main focus is their hand-woven work, which uses undyed British rare breed wool to create limited edition blankets, scarves and quilts. Their designs are based on aspects of the Suffolk Coast, where their studio and shop are located.
Manel & Co’s work has been acquired by international textiles collectors, high end hospitality and interior designers, and they are represented by The New Craftmaker in London, for whom they have designed and hand woven an exclusive range of thirteen designs.
In addition to hand-woven product, the studio offers traditional letterpress printing, film photography and ceramics. As well participating in selected shows, Mabel & Co undertake their own exhibitions, bringing together work from across their disciplines. Alomgside the production work, James and Katie take time out to teach a range of courses from their studio.
