Lucy Lee is a designer, creator and maker. She has worked as an interior design for over 25 years and more recently has diversified her practice, working with ceramics to create sculptural art.
Lucy’s practice is intuitively led; she is both an experienced designer and a talented multi-skilled ceramicist. Her approach is experimental and she embraces risk; enjoying the process of never-ending learning and research, as well as the problem-solving aspects of overcoming the many challenges this exciting medium can throw her way.
Lucy embraces form, scale, colour and texture, creating elegant and contemporary sculptural forms; she is fascinated by the alchemy of glaze, experimenting and creating her own unique glazes. Materiality plays a key part in her practice; she uses a variety of ceramic processes to create aesthetic and complex ceramic sculptures and vessels. Lucy’s work transcends the space between gallery and home, creating a juxtaposition between art and interior.
