What is Precious?

We are proud to present the first exhibition of Design-Nation’s Sustainability & Ethical Practice Hub at Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair this October.

What is Precious? explores the idea of perceived material value. Each of the artworks use recycled and found objects and materials from Alpaca fleece, earth pigments, surf board off cuts and broken pots, repurposed into new artworks. It looks to ask questions about what we as humans value in a throw away society and start to change the conversation.

The exhibition features:

Professional members: Kirsty Adams, Nerissa Cargill Thompson, Su France, Jade Mellor, Darren Ball, and Caroline Brogden

Associate members: Rosalind Stoddart and Karen Whiterod.

Join us at GNCCF in Manchester from 17 – 20 October 2024.

We were thrilled to meet two of our exhibiting members to hear about their work and inspiration. Click below to hear Rosalind and Karen in conversation with Hayley Banks.
