This year we’ve had a steady stream of new talent joining our network, with a fascinating array of ideas, inspirations, surprising materials and innovative techniques. Our latest intake are no exception – blacksmithing meets jewellery, cast resin inspires playful forms, waste plastic combines with reclaimed textiles.
New Graduates: Award-winning City & Guilds wood carving honours graduate and QEST scholar Jo Grogan has a background in fashion design and is now creating a new decorative practice to examine the space between past and present. Cornish-based jeweller Carly Hitchens has transformed her practice during her MA studies, and now focuses on science and digitak technologies to inform her designs. Sarah Nunes is a ceramicist, material explorer and surface developer, whose work is imspired by the proces of hand-throwing clay. Roberta Schreyer is an interdisciplinary and enviornmental textiles researcher, artist and activist who investigates how storytelling can be used in the arts to restore the broken human-nature relationship.
