Attila Olah is a Liverpool-based ceramicist whose work seeks to elevate and celebrate traditions, rituals, and complementary art forms, whether in the quiet harmony of an Ikebana arrangement, the sensory richness of the culinary arts, or the curated elegance of interior design.
At the heart of Attila’s practice is the vessel; its formal qualities and the rich symbolism that surrounds it. Through close study of the cross-sections and profiles of his pieces, Attila explores the relationship between interior and exterior, looking at how subtle shifts in curvature, ratio, texture, surface quality and composition can create a sense of vitality. His practice increasingly gravitates towards simplicity, both in style and execution, and is informed by an intimate engagement with raw materials and the repetitive, semi-automatic process of throwing.
Attila studied for a BA in Design at Liverpool Hope University, graduating in 2016, and joined Design-Nation in 2026.
