Here at Design-Nation we were thrilled to hear the news that our very own Sue Pryke has been announced as the new judge on The Great Pottery Throw Down. Congratulations Sue!
After a campaign by loyal viewers to bring back the programme following it’s cancellation by the BBC, Channel 4 has commissioned a new series from Love Productions that will air in 2020. Melanie Sykes joins as a host, alongside returning judge and master potter Keith Brymer Jones and new judge Sue.
Filming now, the series follows 12 passionate home potters whose pieces are judged by the expert judging duo and a variety of well-known faces from the world of ceramics. Throughout the series, Sue, Keith and guest judges will demonstrate specialist techniques and offer advice, ultimately deciding on the Potter of the Week and an overall winner.
Sue says: “I was thrilled to be asked to be a judge for The Great Pottery Throw Down. It’s such a brilliant programme for championing pottery and I’m delighted to be joining the team. I love ceramics and the show has been really influential in getting people switched on and interested in pottery. It’s an exciting show to watch and I can’t wait to find out who Britain’s best home potter is going to be!”
We can’t wait to see Sue on our screens next year!
