Tamar Rose Ceramics

form and intensity

Ceramic artist Tamar Rose works in porcelain paper-clay, a material with a translucent, almost ethereal quality, which lends itself to the forms that she creates; forms that emerge from her fascination with gothic architecture, Victorian black & white illustrations and the stylised imagery of Ernest Haeckel & William Morris.

Tamar’s intricate porcelain sculpture is an exploration of our fascination with memorials and remembrance and the meanings we imbue in objects. Moving beyond initial ideas, she becomes immersed in rolling, impressing, sprigging and moulding. These components are then assembled, arranged and rearranged until the complete piece achieves the form and intensity that she has been searching for.

In her most recent work, Tamar draws on her favourite design and traditions, to create shrines, reliquaries and sacred objects which hold or suspend personal moments and memories.

Tamar joined Design-Nation’s Professional portfolio in 2026.
