Sanni Falkenberg is a gemstone artist based in Brighton, specialising in the carving of semi-precious gemstones into sculptural objects and works of art. Working within a highly specialised field, she is among a small number of contemporary practitioners in the UK dedicated to artistic gemstone carving.
Combining traditional lapidary techniques with a contemporary approach, Sanni transforms raw stone into tactile forms inspired by nature, organic growth and the unique character of each material. Her work is rooted in a deep understanding of stone and a commitment to technical excellence, creating pieces that sit between contemporary craft, sculpture and adornment.
Alongside her studio practice, Sanni teaches gemstone carving through in-person and online courses, helping to make specialist lapidary skills more accessible to new audiences. Through both her artwork and teaching, she contributes to the preservation, development and visibility of this rare craft within contemporary practice.
