As a porcelain ceramicist working on the wheel, Deborah Harwood has an artistic practice which is deeply rooted in the natural beauty of the South Downs and the nearby coastline. These tranquil landscapes provide her with a constant source of inspiration, influencing not only the visual qualities of her work but also the emotions she aims to evoke. Deborah works primarily with the Neriage technique, a traditional method of layering coloured clays to form intricate patterns within the porcelain. This approach allows her to explore the interplay of form and texture while maintaining a minimal colour palette.
