On 7 September Design-Nation reveals a new exhibition of emerging talents at The Hub Sleaford, our former home and longterm collaborator. Design-Nation Presents showcases eighteen emerging and developing talents, all valued members of our portfolio as Graduates or Associates.
Our exhibitors are: Ambrose & Goulding, Caroline LA Wheeler aka CLAW, Deb King, Elena Branch of Elena Drew This, Gemma Smale, Hannah Heys, Hassina Khan, Joanne Lamb, Kathryn Stevens, Ksenia Semirova, Lara Pain, Lindey Tydeman, Lindsay McDonagh, Rachael Plassard, Rosie Lee Hood, Sharon Kearley, Suzy Ager, Valerie Bernardini.
These designer/makers demonstrate the diversity and excellence of craft and design practice for which Design-Nation is known. Disciplines on show include contemporary basketry, digital design and print, embroidery, glass-working, jewellery-making in copper, silver and other materials, lighting that uses natural wools, metal smithing, stone-carving, weaving, wheel-thrown and slab-built ceramics. There is a strong emphasis on sustainable practice, using local, pre-used and natural materials; and exhibitors often demonstrate strong interest in the nature and history of their chosen materials.
Works on show are decorative, functional, charming and intriguing. And you can support contemporary talent, as everything is for sale!
