Laura Elizabeth Glass is the brand of Laura Smith, a talented designer and glassblower who is showing at Decorex for the second time. Last year we presented her vases and table lamps.
This year Laura has taken inspiration from our Coming of Age theme to create exciting new work. Coming of age is a recurrent theme within Laura’s work, as she draws inspiration from memories of her youth, growing up in the beautiful island of Bermuda and its dramatic storms that were an inevitable part of island life. The Nimbosus wall panel focuses on weather patterns and her Nimbosus chandelier will compliment and create an immersive feel. The large scale wall panelis made of drops of fine hot-cast glass, formed around layers of precious metals. The new version of Laura’s chandelier will have 7-10 lights, and each created with a unique patinated surface.
