Richard Foot

I started working for Design Nation in 2023.

Essential tools: My eyes, ears and my hands, oh and a modelling knife.

Inspirational person: My sister Helen Foot an amazing weaver. If it wasn’t for her I would never have ended up working in the Craft sector.

Favourite material/technique: I’ve had a go at various processes but I think hammering metal is quite satisfying which probably comes from my engineering background.

My guilty pleasure is…Airfix.

The best thing about this job is…I get to work with loads of fascinating makers who create wonderful things!

What are you proudest of? Getting my degree after lots of struggles at school and college with dyslexia.
