Rosa Harradine is a broom and brush maker who makes her work entirely by hand using natural materials. She enjoys making pieces that are both beautiful and useful – the epitome of craft. Rosa has a small piece of woodland where she harvests her broom handles, and her long-term goal is to grow her own broom fibre.
Broom and brush making are on the Heritage Crafts Association’s Red List of endangered crafts. Rosa is passionate about continuing these skills, and sharing them to ensure that they do not die out.
Rosa’s work has received considerable acclaim on the UK craft scene: in 2022 she was selected as a TOAST New Maker, one of five makers demonstrating excellence in skill, originality and craftsmanship. In 2024 she exhibited a series of brooms and brushes as part of the third Harewood Biennial: Create / Elevate, which celebrated the power of craft to surprise, inspire and bring people together to imagine new worlds.
Rosa joined Design-Nation as a Professional member in summer 2025.
