Petra Bishai is a designer-jeweller whose work is defined by a linear style and pared down forms. Working mainly in silver and gold she uses texturing techniques, oxidization and vermeil to emphasise the curves and clean lines in her work, and adds gemstones to provide colour and points of interest.
Petra’s designs draw from a diverse range of cultural influences, from the Middle East to London. Born of Egyptian and Syrian parents in Bahrain, Petra came with her family to London in the 1960s. Growing up in South East London, Petra has always drawn upon this rich cultural heritage and her London upbringing.
Striking and bold, Petra’s designs make a statement; they are both provocative and sensual. Each piece is superbly crafted to create jewellery that is distinctive either for every day or statement pieces for special occasions.
