Laura Quinn is an Irish glass artist based in the UK. She creates interactive glass sculptures using traditional glass techniques, paired with alternative materials and digital design technologies. The result are pieces which have flexible, interactive components for the viewer to touch. Her work is intended to push her audience’s preconceived restraints of glass, by making it less fragile.
Recently Laura’s work has gained acclaim in the UK, Ireland and USA. She was selected to exhibit in Collect Open 2022 in Somerset House, and one of her pieces Tacit Breath was acquired by Ulster Museum for their public collection. Since then, she has spoken at the V&A during London Craft Week, and in Tacoma, USA at the Glass Art Society Conference. In 2022 Laura was awarded the Golden Fleece Award and The Royal Dublin Society Craft Bursary, two of Ireland’s most prestigious awards. Most recently, Laura received funding from QEST.
