Amanda Anderson’s vibrant mosaics of fauna and flora inhabit a realm nether real nor fully imagined. Her wall-based works draw inspiration from natural imagery, painting, half-forgotten childhood tales, and historical mosaic motifs. These influences are brought together through a formal exploration of line, balance, and colour.
Meticulously crafted, Amanda’s work incorporates luminous stained glass cut into both large, gestural forms and small, uniform pieces; alongside ceramic tile and patterned pottery. A dark charcoal grout gives her mosaics a graphic clarity, creating bold silhouettes and intensifying the saturated hues that infuse her work with a vivid, joyful energy.
