Summer Conversations: with Rue Pigalle

Earlier this year the Design-Nation team were introduced to Isabelle Fish, the creator of the Rue Pigalle travel club. Isabelle’s women-only club is described as “an international community with a commitment to the authenticity and legacy of crafts at its heart. Its members share the belief that Crafts are vital to the health and richness of our society. A collective of modern-day Medicis, they champion crafts for the next generation through events, blogs, travel and workshops both digital and in-person.”

Isabelle has put together a charming summer programme on “travel, gardens and the outdoors, through the eyes of makers, curators, academics and creative minds”. We’re pleased to announce that on Friday 16 July the Rue Pigalle club will virtually meet four Design-Nation members across Cornwall & Devon, on beaches and in gardens, for what promises to be a beautiful event.

The makers involved are ceramicists Alison Shelton Brown (Devon/Dorset borders) and Bridget Macklin, glass artist Helen Eastham and silversmith/jeweller Lucy Spink (all Cornwall).  Find out more and register here, and look out for maker profiles on our social media channels over the next few weeks.
