Something New….We’re thrilled to share some exciting news: from 1 August 2025, Design-Nation officially became a Company Limited by Guarantee, led by Directors Clare Edwards and Hayley Banks.
This milestone celebrates 25 years of championing the UK’s most brilliant designers and makers and marks the beginning of an inspiring new chapter of our community.
We’re hugely grateful to the University of Lincoln, for being our accountable body and key partner in recent years. Their support through times of change has enabled us to stay true to our mission and values and to set out confidently on an exciting new path.
From here, Design-Nation UK Ltd will take on full responsibility for programming, operations, and relationships with members, funders, and partners.

Design‑Nation will continue as a not‑for‑profit organisation with plans to begin the process of seeking charitable status to strengthen how we support our incredible community.

Our core values of excellence, sustainability, innovation, and diversity remain at the heart of everything we do.

Becoming a CLG opens the door to new partnerships and funding, helping us reach even further.

Most importantly, it helps us continue to champion over 350 brilliant designers and makers across the UK through exhibitions, events, cluster hubs, and professional development.
This new chapter is all about securing our future for the next half a century and making sure we can keep doing what we do best: championing, connecting, and celebrating the incredible talent of UK designers and makers.
