Handmade for retail 8: Olive Pearson

The final maker in our series on handmade craft that makes perfect giftware and individualised stock for retailers is textile designer Olive Pearson. We are grateful for the support of  our long term partners at the British Craft Trade Fair, who present makers like Olive in their high quality annual showcases of innovative and well made British-based craft. Boutique gift and craft gallery style retailers love these events as a great place to seek original works from UK makers.

Olive specialises in luxurious, knitted accessories. Combining traditional techniques with contemporary design, she creates slow-fashion pieces with beautiful colour combinations in her signature, small-scale, geometric patterns that play with perceptions. Hand-framing in her Glasgow studio enables he to provide a bespoke service for her unique designs, which are inspired by everyday objects from manhole covers to wind turbines and zips. Olive  is happy to create designs to order that incorporate local icons and symbols, creating a geographic resonance that ensures retailers can offer unique gifts to visitors.

Olive hand crafts all of her products with natural, fibres including cashmere, merino lamb’s wool, cotton and silk. Her contact details are here.
