My work developed initially from a love of colour and pattern. This was the starting point, to which I then drew in influences from textiles.
Coloured liquid clays, called slips, are stenciled before being transferring onto flat slabs of clay, which are then constructed into their 3D forms.
Most of my pieces are made from templates, though the processes used ensure no two pieces will ever end up exactly the same. I love the imperfections and irregularities created when transferring the design, as well as those that occur through the construction process.
