Laura graduated with a first class BA(Hons) in Contemporary Crafts in 2007 from the University of Lincoln, UK and has since exhibited throughout the UK. She has also curated numerous exhibitions and managed arts projects. She spent 8 years with the exhibitions team at the National Centre for Craft & Design and has since developed her own freelance practice.
Specialising in sculptural wet felt techniques and mixed media, Laura utilises the properties of wool creating seamless objects without using adhesives or stitching.
Laura favours a natural colour palette allowing her to concentrate on form unless colour is vital to the work. In her recent collections, Laura explores the use of other materials contrasting with felt, inspiring new ideas.
Laura has also taught the craft for 10 years and has exhibited in a variety of venues; Mall Galleries, London and The National Centre for Craft & Design.
Laura also takes great satisfaction in teaching the craft of feltmaking to others and is available for demonstrations and workshops.
