Since completing his masters at the Royal College of Art, Graeme Hawes has spent his professional life combining freelance glass making for others and teaching, with his own glass-making practice.
Graeme’s work encompasses small batch production for galleries and retail outlets, through to large scale lighting and bespoke commissions for individuals, hotels around the world and some well respected lighting and chandelier companies. His work includes the use of many traditional handmade techniques combined with a very contemporary edge.
Graeme has undertaken commissions for a wide variety of clients across industry and charity, including Channel 4, Hermes, Grolsch, Black Bush and Care in the Community. He also work in collaboration with other artists and makers, including Design-Nation member Jacky Oliver.
