Chloe Scott is a woven textile designer creating bespoke woven fabrics and products. All of her fabrics are handwoven on the loom in her studio in Norfolk. Fabrics are inspired by her surroundings: Chloe uses photography and drawing to create hand designed graphic motifs, which are then translated onto the loom.
Chloe carefully considers her choices of yarn, to really emphasise colour and reflect on her inspirations. Her warps are hand-dyed to create distorted ombre colour changes, so that every piece is unique. She is interested in the current environmental state, and thinks carefully about and reflects on the materials she choses. As her practice evolves, Chloe is selecting materials that will reduce her practice’s impact on the environment.
On the loom Chloe uses skilled double-cloth techniques in her weaving, creating padded structures within designs which produce shaped forms and structures. The handwoven fabrics are then made into a range of home and lifestyle products, including buttons, purses, glasses cases, cushions and bags. Chloe also happily takes on commissions, creating bespoke fabrics for custom pieces.
